Help Logging In to Use HPCC Applications |
|
Your Authentication Code and PasswordPlease keep your HPCC authentication code(s) and password(s) secure at all times. Users should keep their credentials on their persons, in a locked drawer or cabinet, or in an encrypted computer file. The USGS and the Department of the Interior require that passwords not be shared, so credentials may be used only by the single individual to whom they have been issued. When group access to the same information is required on the HPCC, system developers and system administrators will set up suitable access so that sharing of passwords will not be necessary. If you believe your credentials may have been seen by someone else, please contact the HPCC operations staff right away. We will promptly delete old credentials and provide new ones. We can also provide new credentials if yours have been misplaced. |
Problems During LoginIf you have had trouble logging in for application access, please read and apply the following suggestions before contacting the HPCC operations staff:
Login is normally very fast, so a delay of more than a few seconds after clicking on the "Enter Access Information" button indicates a problem. Simultaneous Dual Login Not AllowedYou may not use separate browser windows, even with different browsers, to run more than one simultaneous HPCC login session from a single workstation. The IP address of your workstation is used to keep track of your credentials, so multiple sessions from the same IP address interfere with one another. If you inadvertently open multiple login sessions from the same IP address you won't damage any files, but your login sessions will soon end in authentication failure. |
